To laugh without fear of the future

Grace in the Ordinary–a Mother’s day mini gift collection
She is clothed with strength and dignity, and laughs without fear of the future.”–Proverbs 31:25
I’ve been thinking about this verse a lot lately, and the line that just keeps resonating with me is “laughs without fear of the future.”
In the times we live in, it’s so easy to get bogged down with fear. Anxiety and depression are rampant and taking over so many of our loved ones, and fear is such a natural response to all the events happening around us.
We all know this, but the command “Do not fear” in the bible is seen countless of times…so it’s a huge theme–(I think God put it in there so much because he knows how much we struggle with this).
That’s why this line, “laughs without fear of the future” is such good news right now. Because we serve a God who is faithful and sovereign over all things…a God who is both good and just and cares for even the smallest of sparrows–so how much more will he care for us…this God who sent Jesus to defeat death so we don’t even have to fear death…and secured our future with Him through His sacrifice…
It’s this God that allows us to look into the future and actually be joyful–not afraid.
I hope this painting is an encouraging reminder–not just to the moms out there–since it’s easy to fear the future–(I know I fear for my kids as they grow up…or fear all the what ifs that can happen in a day). May this painting be a beautiful reminder of the freedom we can have (through Christ) from fear…
I created 5 different pieces of art for this Mother’s day collection, and have made different options available for printing using these images–options like mugs, notebooks, candles, cards, etc.–SO you can choose the perfect gift for your mom/loved one.
